Rise Above Procrastination

Procrastination is the one thing that stops us from doing what we need to do. Putting everything off until tomorrow or next week just builds more to do’s later. Wouldn’t it be so much easier to get everything out of the way and relax later? One would think. But, relaxing in the moment sounds better sometimes. Rising above procrastination is a force. It won’t be easy or something you want to do but it is something you have to do in order to get things done or reach a specific goal. I find the best way to power through procrastination is to write a to do list. Once that to do list is made, X out all of the things you have done already and make a point to be stern with yourself. Don’t do anything until all of the things on your to do list are X’d off. Another thing to get over procrastination is to manage your sleep patterns. Try going to bed earlier so you can wake up earlier and get stuff done early. That way you have the rest of the day to do whatever you want. Lastly, space things out. Trying to do everything at once will only add more unnecessary stress to your life. Try taking a few hours to do one task and then switching it up doing by doing another. Alternate your tasks so you are not getting bored and wanting to just take a break but never coming back to what you have to do. Procrastination plays a mental role. You can either control it or let it control you. Which will you choose?

I totally agree. For me, creating a to do list helps a whole lot. Every start of the week, I write down all that I will like to accomplish throughout the week. If I want to read, I set a timer on my phone for 30 minutes or so and read. No disturbance. Just time to focus on getting things done. That helps me a lot. Great post 😊✨
